Description
The Waveshare SFP fiber-to-Ethernet converter links a copper RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port to an SFP fiber interface. It uses the RTL8213B controller chip, supports 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet auto-negotiation, and works with a compatible 1.25Gbps optical transceiver on the fiber side.
This compact Gigabit SFP converter is useful for network cabinets, industrial control boxes, embedded gateways and lab benches where copper Ethernet needs to hand off to fiber. Onboard indicators help confirm link and activity, while the metal enclosure protects the RJ45, SFP and USB Type-C interfaces.
Two variants are available: With PoE module for installations that require Ethernet-side power, and Without PoE module for USB Type-C powered use. Both variants provide the same RJ45 to SFP converter function. The SFP optical module is not included.
